Emma's Magical Picks for the Fair
I’m so excited to be returning to the Spirit of Christmas Fair this year - it’s always one of my favourite events of the season. The atmosphere is full of creativity and sparkle, and I love discovering so many talented independent makers and British brands that share my love of craftsmanship, colour and imagination.
Of course, you’ll find me and the Emma J Shipley team there with a world of wonder to explore, with my hand-drawn fantastical designs across fine china and cushions to jewellery, scarves, bedding and more. But I also wanted to share a few of my personal picks from other brands I’ll be seeking out (and probably shopping myself!).

For the Style Lover
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I adore a bold print or statement piece, and Hayley Menzies is a kindred spirit in that respect - her maximalist tees, knits and coats are works of art and I love the London rock ’n’ roll flair she brings to every collection. I also love Stoned and Waisted and have my eye on one of their stunning shearling coats. They are all made in the UK in the most incredible rich jewel colours - perfect for adding a touch of drama to your festive wardrobe.

And of course, Donna Ida Jeans are my forever go-to. I love pairing her beautifully cut denim with one of my own printed scarves or jewellery for a look that feels effortless and individual - this season I’m coveting their Cassandra flared jumpsuit in rich forest green.

For the Cosy Season
Every year I look for gifts that bring both comfort and luxury - Cocoa Cashmere ticks both boxes perfectly with their sumptuously soft knits in vibrant hues (so much more joyful than beige or black!).

Last Christmas I bought my dad a pure merino lambswool jumper from Sims Menswear, and I’m fairly sure he hasn’t taken it off since - proof that timeless design and quality materials never go out of style. Their beautiful knits are all made sustainable here in the UK from start to finish; from fibre carding and spinning to knitting, weaving, cutting, and sewing. Wool really is a wonder-fibre and will last for years to come.

For the Host (and the Guest!)
When it comes to thoughtful gifting for hosts, I always gravitate toward food and drink from independent makers that feels special but still has a story behind it. Reverend Hubert’s award-winning Winter Gin Liqueur is always a winner - aromatic and handcrafted in the Cotswolds using real fruit, it will (most importantly) make any Prosecco or sparkling wine taste incredible and very festive! The packaging is also unique and colourful, making it a beautiful gift.

I’ll also be keeping an eye out for small-batch coffee and olive oil brands - something like Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee or Itania Greek Organic Olive Oil, (who champion female olive farmers) would make a perfect gift for the culinary dreamers in your life.

A Final Note of Wonder
For me, Spirit of Christmas is more than just shopping, it’s about celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and the stories behind every piece. That’s exactly what inspires me when creating my own designs - from my Bosque Dreams velvet cushions and fine bone china made in Stoke-on-Trent to my new jewellery and scarves.

So whether you’re treating someone special or just yourself, I hope you’ll stop by our stand, say hello, and discover a little magic to take home with you!
