Kansa Bronze Ayurvedic Saucepan Naturally Non-Stick
Kansa bronze promotes wellness and is entwined with Ayurvedic principles. We have named our saucepan Aurum which is Latin for golden and symbolises the golden patina bronze takes over time. The name also takes its inspiration from Legio Aurum - The Golden legion. Bronze cookware was once widely used across the Roman empire and ancient world. This is a solid casting of Kansa bronze which is a specific type of bronze with a higher tin content (78% Copper 22% tin). Tin is naturally non-stick; therefore, unlike other pans that are non stick coated the tin here is part of the alloy so it does not need to be relined and will last forever. The exterior is wrought, sculptural and of artisanal quality.

This is Bronze Cookware in Artform
The exterior of our pans feature wrought, sculptural lines set against molten polished ones. Evoking tensions between dark and light, ancient and modern. A visually appealing look that could only be achieved with a highly specialised casting process.
Thick Bronze Pans Have Excellent Heat Conductivity and Even Distribution
Thick pans especially those made of cast bronze have excellent heat retention because they have high thermal mass. The greater the mass and density of a material, the more thermal energy it can absorb and store, leading to a more stable cooking temperature. Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, combines high thermal conductivity with the benefits of high thermal mass.
For sauces and delicate foods
As discussed, the copper in the alloy makes bronze a highly responsive metal with good heat conductivity and distribution. It provides precise and quick control over the temperature changes you make. You can quickly bring a sauce to a boil and then reduce it to a gentle simmer without scorching. The control is noticeable.
Tin Provides a Naturally Non-Stick Surface
Our naturally non-stick surface comes from tin. The pan is cast from Kansa Bronze, a specific type of bronze with a higher than average tin content. It is essentially the same alloy as bronze, composed of copper and tin, but with a ratio of 78:22; whereas the average copper tin bronze ratio is 85:15.
