Dappled Shade

Dappled Shade is a contemporary jewellery brand founded by textile designer Gemma Harrison, creating earrings from the fashion industry's textiles offcuts while supporting women in prison.

Born from a desire to reduce waste within the fashion industry, we turn high-quality offcuts from fashion houses into bold ruffle hoop earrings.

Each pair of earrings is hand-made in partnership with the textiles workshop at HMP Downview women’s prison. The programme provides training, qualifications, and paid work, supporting women to build skills and confidence for employment on release. Gemma goes into the workshop and personally trains and supports the women, creating a team environment and doing one-to-one teaching.
