Rick & Kirsty Goring
AboutRichard Goring manages the Wiston Estate and oversees the business development and future direction of the winery.
Previously he was a carpenter in London before travelling throughout the west coast of Canada with his wife Kirsty, working on organic farms and vineyards.
He chairs an environmental stewardship charity, which engages young people in the preservation and enhancement of the surrounding landscape.
Most recently he has been working on a Whole Estate Plan, which is the first of its kind to be endorsed by a UK National Park (South Downs).
Kirsty Goring studied history at Oxford before training at Ballymaloe cookery school in Cork, Ireland.
She set up her own catering business and worked in a London based charity, which bridged the gap between the rich and poor. She later went on to work with the team at Higgidy down on the South Coast and was involved in the areas of PR and product development.
Having travelled with Richard in British Columbia she helps in various aspects of running the Estate. She completed the WSET (Wine & Spirit Educational Trust) Business & Commercial Knowledge course in February 2016 and is currently Marketing Director of the winery business.
At the weekends Richard and Kirsty share the joy of bringing up their three sons, Finlay (11), Milo (8) and Otis (6), in the beautiful Sussex countryside, building dens, camping, biking and playing many games of football!
