Original Poster: Colorado Pro Tour (1988)
Coors, founded 1873 in Colorado, became the main sponsor of pro ski events during the 1980’s, with races held across Colorado’s premier resorts, listed here on the poster.
This poster, from the 1989 season, uses a strong, dynamic graphic image, full of movement and energy. It’s unusual as many poster designs tended to rely more heavily on photographic images. Additionally, the sponsors logo is kept in proportion without dominating the poster & this restrained approach draws the eye back to the athlete. It’s rare to see a graphic design in a contemporary poster like this. It works very well.
Printed on grey/silver heavy paper, the poster is in mint condition & surely a must for anyone who has ever skied in the Rockies.
