Surrey-based children’s arts and craft company, Fab Dab Do, recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting firms

In September 2024, Tadworth-based arts and craft company Fab Dab Do, has been named as one of the nation’s 100 most impressive small firms by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign, as it kicks off a wider call to encourage public support for small businesses.

Fab Dab Do, innovative t-shirt painting craft company, was founded by Amanda Litster in 2020. Their T-shirt Painting Craft Boxes and Starter Kits are designed to inspire children from toddlers to teens, to fashion their own style, build confidence around arts and crafts and have lots of fun along the way. Simply choose a theme and a t-shirt, and within a matter of days, your kit will arrive you can start dabbing away with your easy-to-use stencils. Suitable for any age and no artistic ability required; within a matter of minutes your fun and colourful t-shirt design will be complete!

Following a nationwide search, the Surrey-based firm has been selected as part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up, which showcases 100 of the most impressive independent businesses from across the nation as part of the count-down to Small Business Saturday on 7 December.

Running in the UK for over a decade, Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign, which takes place each year on the first weekend in December, celebrating small businesses and encouraging consumers to 'shop local' and to support businesses in their communities.

Amanda commented: “We are thrilled and honoured to have been chosen as one of Small Business Saturday’s top 100 inspirational small UK businesses for 2024. We are really dedicated and passionate about creating easy-to-use products that ignite children’s creativity, explore their imagination and boost artistic confidence, while giving them a break from screens, and we are so proud to see that our company has been recognised by such a significant national campaign.

Fab Fab Dab Do will be profiled by the campaign on 11th October as part of the 100-day countdown to Small Business Saturday UK. To celebrate their focus day, the 11th October will see a one-day offer to receive an extra pack of stencils (with six in each) so that you can dab away to create even more fantastic designs!

“It’s great to celebrate Fab Dab Do as part of this year’s campaign,” said Michelle Ovens CBE, Director of Small Business Saturday UK. She continued, “This year’s SmallBiz100 list shows the huge contribution small businesses make to their communities and the wider UK economy. Despite the economy turning a corner, the nation’s small businesses continue to feel the fallout of a challenging few years and still need significant support to get back on their feet. Small Business Saturday is all about getting the nation to come out in force and show its love for our local businesses.

With a mission to support and celebrate the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses, Small Business Saturday is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign. It was originally founded by American Express in the U.S. in 2010, and the brand remains the principal supporter of the campaign in the UK.

On Small Business Saturday, customers across the UK go out and support all types of small businesses, from independent shops and restaurants to small service and b2b businesses like accountants and plumbers. Many small businesses take an active role in promoting the day by hosting events and offering promotions.

Since the UK campaign started in 2013, it has reached millions of people and seen billions spent with small businesses on the day itself, with impact that lasts all year round.

Last year, the campaign received support from the Prime Minister, the Mayor of London, as well as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Over 90% of local councils also supported the campaign, which trended across social media on the day.

About Fab Dab Do

Launched in 2020 by Amand developed from many years of experience running children’s workshops and craft parties through our former Splatter Make brand, the Fab Dab Do stencil kits are all thoughtfully designed to offer long-lasting and reusable products that help bring out children’s natural ability for storytelling and imaginative play.

The simplicity of the stencil kits allow children to create something they are proud of and develop their confidence around crafts. The kit is suitable for all ages, whether you are a seasoned artist or have no previous experience. There is a real ‘wow’ factor when the designs are revealed and each t-shirt is as individual as the child themselves.

From dogs to orangutans, and mermaids to space, there really is something to inspire everyone to find their own creative expression, and craft a design that builds confidence and results in a true sense of achievement.

Fab Dab Do's t-shirt printing kits are incredibly versatile for collaborations. We can partner with your brand to create unique stencil and t-shirt painting kits that enhance your branded product offering tailored specifically to you. This is an innovative way to connect your product with customers in a creative and engaging way.
