AboutTerra Rossa is an importer and distributor of a wide range of Levantine specialities including olive oils, herbs, sweets and essential cooking ingredients, and is also a producer of unique UK hand-made Arabian sauces, relishes, spreads and herb mixes.
It has won 65 Great Taste Awards over 14 years and is the winner of the 2018 Golden Fork Award for Baba’s Rashi & Dibis with Sesame Seeds from London & the South East. The products are available to buy on their own or in beautifully packaged and presented giftsets including dipping kits with hand-made and hand painted bowls, elegant presentation boxes, jute bags, corrugated cartons and bespoke hampers.
Terra Rossa is a family owned business led by Hanan Samara, who is an Iraqi Born British Palestinian with an eclectic taste of the Levant thanks to her Mum’s flair for cooking a diverse spectrum of food from Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and last but not least Iraq – and thanks to her Dad for one particular dish, Baba’s Rashi and Dibis.
Terra Rossa will be launching 4 new products at the Speciality and Fine Food Fair: Baba’s Rashi & Dibis with Caramelised Walnuts; Zaatar & Pine Nuts Sauce with Crispy Onions; Olive & Tomato Relish with Sweet Red Peppers; and Aubergine and Tomato Relish with Chickpeas.
15 years ago there was hardly anybody that had heard of Zait & Zaatar (Arabic for Olive Oil and Thyme) – the concept of dunking bread into oil and then dipping into a herb mix – except of course to dipping into a bowl of oil and balsamic vinegar.
15 years on, Terra Rossa would like to think in its small way that it’s been pioneering and instrumental in helping make fine artisan Middle Eastern food accessible to the UK market.
