British Made and Sustainable: Iona Buchanan Ltd
Iona Buchanan is a botanical artist by training who makes a range of homewares based on her original watercolours. All of her homewares, and the fine art prints of her botanical illustrations, are made in the UK.
Iona lives in rural Stirlingshire and most of her subjects are chosen from studying the wildlife around her. The only exception is her penguin illustrations which are the joyous outcome of a commission from the Falkland Islands.
A believer in quality and sustainability, all of Iona’s products are made in the UK. The fabric items are designed, printed and made-up in the north of England. Her ceramic products; the mugs, jugs, jam pots etc are designed and hand-decorated in the traditional centre of British pottery – Stoke on Trent.
The terracotta bases for her bread warmers are made in Suffolk and her cards and notebooks are all printed in the UK. Packaging is kept to a minimum and most of it, such as cardboard mug boxes, is recyclable.
